For me photography is symbolic reality. It is possible to capture things seen, and unseen, and do with them whatever. To perceive a world and remake it as you wish - or not. This is a life in which I can and do exist. (Click on image to view enlargement.) Frames and coloured matts are only suggestions which I like. Pigmment prints (giclée) are available at 16" on the long side mounted to 2 ply 20" x 16" Strathmore archival white boards at $125. Contact me at: jaydeehill@att.net

Drive-By-Shooting, 11th St., Springfield, IL (Infrared Grab Shot)
My files contain several thousand "Drive-By-Shooting" exposures. Most of them are
shot at fairly high speed as Mrs. Hill drives me all over the landscape. I keep my
little IR camera pointed out the window as she traverses the highways at around 70 MPH.
I focus on things out of the corner of my eye hoping to catch instances of ephemeral
landscape about which I have no idea of the parameters of composition or any sane consider-
ation of technique. By the time I shoot more than 1/5th of a second has passed and the
scene has been altered from that which caused me to press the shutter in the first place.
Very few of these exposures are done within city speed zones. This photograph is one
such example.

Dumpster Dive 3172
This maze was seen at the bottom of a dumpster and is part of my Dumpster Dive Series which is comprised of more than a thousand images - most of which are not very good. The elements of the photograph are made of broken glass and a few electrical wires. You never know what can be seen inside a dumpster until you look.
